The Essar Chester Half Marathon is one of the standout events on city's sporting calendar.
Now in its 35th year, the 13.1-mile test of endurance will see thousands of athletes pound Chester's streets, cheered on by hundreds of spectators.
Reporter David Holmes will be reporting live from the event while fellow Chronicle journalist Mike Fuller is actually taking part in the half marathon.

Signing off
The 2016 Chester Half Marathon has come to an end and the runners and their friends and families are off to enjoy what will hopefully be a relaxing afternoon in the sun at the end of a hugely successful event. Our congratulations to Mark and Julie, the first man and woman home in the race, and also to brother and sister Arran and Lorna Hulse for their success in the fun run. And a further word of additional praise for our own Mike Fuller! Thank you for following our live updates throughout the morning. We will have a full report with a gallery of pictures from the event on our website later this afternoon. And don’t forget we would love to include some of your pictures from the half marathon. You can tweet @ChesterChron or email cheshire.news@trinitymirror,com.
