Pupils from The Queen’s School polished up their rhyming slang for rip-roaring musical journey through Victorian London.

The Year 5 and 6 pupils presented a summer performance of Olivia - a rollercoaster of action, filled with famous London literary characters and bursting with drama, emotion, laughter and song.

The plot unfolded in an orphanage up north but soon moved to London when Olivia escapes. She then meets Eliza who then introduces her to a whole load of literary characters including Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, Scrooge, George Bernard Shaw, Dickens and Mrs Hudson.

Head of Lower School Rachel Cookson said: “What a wonderful performance! I was so impressed with the standard of acting and singing, and I know the very proud families in the audience were too.

“It was a fantastic way to celebrate Year 6 moving on to senior school and the perfect demonstration of how Year 5 are ready to take on the challenge of their last year in lower school.”
