PARENTS from a city school have raised £1,500 for a local charity.

The Queen’s School Parents Association held a ball at Chester Racecourse to raise funds for Hope House Children’s Hospice and the school. The ball was themed Around the World.

Organiser Dr Laura Freeman presented a cheque for £1,500 to hospice fundraiser Rachel Jones.

She said: “Hope House was selected as a local charity to Chester and was a popular choice amongst parents.”

Rachel added: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved and also to everyone who donated on the evening.

“It is a huge sum of money for us and we are very grateful.”
