QUEEN’S Park High School students have taken on giant projects.

Sixth form students have created willow and papier mâché giants for the city’s Giant Festival Parades which took place at the weekend while Year 7 students have been taking part in a Giant Museum project as part of their Learning for Life course.

The Handbridge students designed their own museum, made giant artefacts in art lessons and considered how to market their museum.

As part of the project, the youngsters visited the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford where artefacts are grouped according to how they were made or used, rather than by origin or age.

In partnership with Chester the Giant City and BiG Storage entrepreneur Andrew Donaldson the work they have produced will form part of the Giant Exhibition at BiG Storage in Sealand Road on Sunday, June 27, from 10.30am until 1.30pm.

Headteacher Stephen Casey said: “We are delighted that we have been able to support this community project. Our students have enjoyed taking part and we have been very impressed with the work they have produced. I hope as many people as possible can come to celebrate the work of our students.”
