STUDENTS at Queen’s Park High School have been celebrating their achievements.

A celebration evening at the Handbridge school put the icing on the cake following a good Ofsted report which drew attention to the outstanding contribution students make to the community.

More than 75 students from Years 7-10 received awards for improvement in learning, with several receiving awards in more than one subject.

A further 35 students received an award for 100% attendance and punctuality.

The capacity audience was entertained by the school choir and a slide show presentation of students enjoying what the school has on offer.

Guest speaker was Professor Mike Thomas from the University of Chester who gave an inspirational and motivating speech before presenting the awards.

Assistant headteacher Sue Kervin, who organised the evening, said: “Congratulations go to one and all; these young people are a credit to themselves, their parents and to the school.”
