A Chester school choir have released a Christmas single and album to raise money for charity.
All proceeds from the song, also called Spirit of Christmas, will be donated to the Neuromuscular Centre and is available to download on iTunes for just 79p.
It was composed by The Queen’s School’s Head of Music Jeanette Healey and features Year 13 pupil Olivia Atkinson.
The giving does not stop there though as the choir has also released a Christmas album of eight original songs also written by Mrs Healey.
The festive ensemble Songs for Queen’s features solo performances from nine of the girls who recorded the album in a recording studio in Liverpool.
Profits will be donated to The Christie in Manchester and the festive songs can be downloaded for just £6.32.
Mrs Healey said: “The girls have really enjoyed recording the songs and it has been a great experience for them to see first-hand what goes into putting a professional recording together. They have all been fantastic and I am so proud to see it all come together and believe we have produced a really good single and album. We hope to see our hard work result in us raising money for two great causes.”
