CHILDREN in Blacon have been rewarded for going to school.
A new scheme at the Arches, St Theresa’s, JH Godwin, Dee Point and Highfield primary schools encourages pupils by offering rewards to those with a good school attendance record.
Names of the children with few late marks and more than 95% attendance last term were put in to a hat with the chance of winning a brand new bike.
Four-year old Katie Marie-Johnson, of the Arches, Lily Whitley, 10, of St Theresa’s, Bailey Parkinson, nine, of J H Godwin and Leonie Halliwell, 10 of Highfield Primary School were four of the five lucky winners who turned up at the Bike Factory in Boughton to receive their winning cycle.
The fifth winner, six-year old Jordan Leigh from Dee Point Primary School, was unable to attend the presentation but will pick up his bike with his dad.
