ARTISTIC pupils at Beechwood Primary School are celebrating after the school received an Arts Council England Silver Artsmark.
The Runcorn school was one of 412 schools to achieve the silver award, which recognises a commitment to developing arts provision - from drama to music, design to literature and dance to sculpture.
The scheme also encourages schools to work in partnership with artists.
Lynne Finn, headteacher, said: 'I am delighted that the Arts Council has recognised the school's progressive arts education programme.'
Sir Christopher Frayling, chairman of Arts Council England, added: 'Warm congratulations to those who have been awarded Artsmark this year. The arts are for everyone and an Artsmark recognises the significant achievement of schools committed to putting the power of the arts at the heart of their curriculums and at the heart of their school.'
