WACKY trousers and a rock star teacher have got a Chester primary school animated.
Wrong Trousers Day, inspired by the Wallace and Gromit film of the same name, was celebrated at Mill View Primary School, Upton.
Luci Jones, bursar at the school, said: “Somebody had a pair of trousers made out of bubble wrap and others had waistbands made out of hula hoops. A little boy came in his sister’s Barbie jeans.”
Olivia Evans in Year 2 won the overall prize, a Wallace and Gromit DVD.
The deputy head, Dave Wallis, took to the stage with his band who were known as Wallis and the Gromits for the day.
The band performed eight songs, playing all afternoon as pupils danced around the hall with inflatable guitars.
Luci added: “It was amazing! They did Paradise City, Hard Day’s Night, Monster. The pupils all made posters and were up on the stage – it was like a concert.”
The initiative, run by the Nick Park Foundation, raises money for children’s hospices and the school collected £217.
