PUPILS in Helsby have elected their fresh-faced role models for the year ahead by voting in their new head boy and head girl.

William Dunn, 17, of Crowton, and Rebecca Glass, 17, of Frodsham, will represent all of the students at Helsby High School as the public face of the school.

The students, who are both in Year 12, will liaise with local police, community groups and charities, as well as meeting regularly with the headteacher and staff to discuss students ideas and issues.

The pair replace last year’s head boy and girl Alex Pegler and Abbigail Forshaw , who were popular role models in the school, often showing visitors around and helping out in interviews for new members of staff.

William and Rebecca will be assisted in their new role by deputies Aisha Baderand Oliver Martin, until the next election in the coming academic year.

Speaking about the election head of Sixth Form Elizabeth Valentine said: “Our prefect leadership team did a fantastic job last year and our new team is eager to build upon their success.

“I am delighted to be working with such a talented and dedicated group of students.”

The new leadership team will be supported by a group of prefects, who will help with corridor duties, as role models and at large charity events.
