ARTISTIC pupils in Helsby have been spending hours making teapots which would make the Mad Hatter green with envy.

Students at Helsby High School have enjoyed making embellished teapots, plates, jugs, teaspoons, cups and saucers which they decorated with jewels and gems.

The Year 8 students layered colourful paper onto the teapots after learning how to create decoupage patterns and then wrapped them with threads and beads to create the unusual tea party set. The project was part of a scheme which saw The Leading Edge Programme join forces with the school to give talented pupils the chance to experience new art forms.
