LACHE has talent and it was all on display at the annual fun day.

Youngsters from Lache Primary School showed off their skills during a specially organised talent show at the community centre.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house following the winning duet from Year 3 pupils Ellie Newman and Ben Salmon. The duo sang When You Believe from the DreamWorks film A Prince of Egypt.

Runners up were Jay Gilmartin and Jordan Franklin with their comedy version of Leona Lewis’ Bleeding Love.

The fun day was opened by Councillor David Hughes and Chester MP Christine Russell made a guest appearance.

Lache Park Ltd’s Linda Lavender said: “The day was absolutely brilliant and it went really well.

The rain in the morning made us decide to move to the community centre but everything else went according to plan and the sun eventually came out. It was our best fun day ever.”

The community event had stalls, fairground rides, a fancy dress competition and activities for the children.

Chester Angels cheerleaders provided entertainment and Lache FM radio broadcast throughout the day.

It culminated in a Beltane celebration, a fire festival to celebrate productivity in the countryside.

Assistant headteacher of Lache Primary School, Carole Seaton, said: “We all stuck wishes or messages on our ‘goddess’ which we made with artist Russell Kirk and then burnt her to bring good luck.”
