DRESSED in an outfit fit for a queen, schoolgirl Rebecka Ollier was crowned Champion of Champions at the ScottishPower/Trinity Mirror Cheshire ceremony.

The Sir William Stanier pupil was nominated for the Young Person of the Year category after raising more than £3,000 for the Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey children’s hospital in Liverpool, in memory of her elder brother Jimmie who was cared for there up until his death in May 2006.

Rebecka was joined by proud parents Tracey and Anthony and older sister Kayleigh, who took part in a video shown at the end of the evening paying tribute to her schoolgirl’s strength and efforts in the face of tragedy.

“I’m so shocked I have been recognised for the Champion of Champions award,” said Rebecka. “When I didn’t win the overall Young Person award I was a bit disappointed but then I saw all my schoolmates and my mum and dad on the big screen talking about what I had been doing and I didn’t know what was going on.

“I was very nervous about going up on stage in front of everyone but I’ve had a great night.”
