A LANDLADY popped out for a kickabout with her adopted footie team.

Sporty pub keeper Pat Wilde, well known behind the pumps at the Grosvenor Arms in Handbridge, has been fundraising for new kit for St Werburgh’s FC.

Club officials secretary Dave Aspinall, manager Neal Cartwright and chairman Mike Melia with captain Danny Radford came along to show off the new strip.

Pat says the pub already has social links with the club and she was delighted to help out.

She is happy to welcome any other teams who would like to pop in for a pint and a sandwich.

The pool table at the pub is oversubscribed and Pat also welcomes cricketers and a scooter club.

The licensee raised £6,000 for the Countess of Chester Hospital last year and is now supporting the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
