THE White Lion in Ford Lane, Crewe, reopened under new management on Saturday.
The pub has been completely refurbished by new licensees, Carole Healy and fiance Steve Critchley.
Steve, 44, who also runs First Choice Direct Taxis in Weston Road, said: 'Saturday was absolutely amazing. There must have been more than 200 people in and out of the door.
'We opened at noon in time for the Liverpool versus Manchester United football game on television and the place was packed. That's how it stayed until midnight and we didn't get to bed until 4.30am.
'Big Brother contestant Jenny Corner even came down and joined in the fun during the evening.
'People drank us out of beer and we were constantly washing glasses. We had to restock the barrels in the morning.
'I've never seen anything like it.
'It's a fantastic feeling to think that the whole community is behind us and I'd like to say thanks to everyone who came.'
