A PUB in Helsby could be turned into homes or shops after attracting interest from property developers.
The Robin Hood pub on Chester Road, Helsby, which has been shut for months, is for sale for £400,000 and may never serve another pint again.
Property agent Paramount Investments says the pub has already attracted strong interest from property developers.
Managing director Mark Greig said: “Although we would like to see the Robin Hood continue as a going concern, we have had recent interest from developers as it is in a planning class which means it can be converted into flats or other retail uses with minimal recourse to the planning authorities.
“Falling property prices are creating tremendous bargains within the pub market for licensees who know they can respond to the challenges facing the modern trade.
“There has never been a better time to buy a pub. To pick up a pub like this at such a price represents a terrific opportunity – for the right kind of publican.”
The Horse and Jockey pub, also on Chester Road, recently had plans to build 14 affordable homes on the site rejected.
