A FILM-MAKER enjoyed a royal encounter when he filmed the Queen at an army presentation.

Dave Bladen, owner of Little Sutton-based Elite Film and Television, was asked to film the Duke of Lancaster regiment at a presentation in Preston and the Queen was on hand to give out awards.

He said: “I was filming the parade and the Queen, being colonel in chief of the regiment, was there to do the presentations. It was an honour to do.

“It was just me and three photographers allowed near to her. The Queen had her own official cameraman from Buckingham Palace and we all had to follow him around.

“We were with her for about three hours altogether but we weren’t allowed to actually speak with her.

“We were selected as the official filming company because we have been very lucky to have a done a number of regiment DVDs in the past.”

Elite Film and Television has been established for about 25 years and also films corporate work, like training videos, and weddings.

Dave added: “It was done in conjunction with Neston based Chat Noir. We use their cameramen and sound engineers.”
