PROPOSALS were withdrawn for the conversion of a redundant stable to create a house.

The application was made at The Racing Stables in Puddington by Hanns Hall Farm Ltd.

Planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council were told approval was being sought for a change of use from agricultural to domestic and for the conversion of the timber and brick stable to residential accommodation.

The application included the conversion of a timber garage into an annex and a garage and the retention of a repaired range of timber stables.

The property, close to the Puddington Conservation Area, would have had a landscaped courtyard.

The stables were built around 1910, according to Chester based conservation specialists Donald Insall Associates Ltd.

The conversion was aimed at a buyer wanting a small family property with stables.

A shared driveway to Puddington Lane would be reused.

The architects suggested the conversion would make a positive contribution to the area. A council report says the application was withdrawn.
