A GROUP of Year 10 Whitby High School students were invited to work alongside an award-winning contemporary artist.

Lancaster-based Priscilla Jones has been creating contemporary pieces since graduating in 1997.

She exhibits her work in exhibitions nationally and internationally and is a freelance educator in further and higher education and secondary schools.

Priscilla also runs independent workshops and talks.

She visited Whitby High during half term for the session during which the group of teenagers learnt new techniques for a ‘Still Life’ project.

“They enjoyed the experience and found the day to be very productive. It was a great success,” said the school.
