A PREGNANT woman has been taken to hospital after being injured in a car crash just outside Chester city centre.
The crash happened at 3.10pm today (Friday, March 7) on the A540 Parkgate Road between Countess Way and Cheyney Road.
Medical staff at the scene are said to be concerned for the welfare of the unborn child and have taken the mother-to-be to the Countess of Chester Hospital.
Two vehicles were involved in the smash and police have cordoned off the road while they clear the scene.
Drivers are advised to alter their routes if possible to avoid the area.
