Highways England are carrying out emergency repairs to the northbound approach of the Posthouse Roundabout near Chester following reports of a sunken grille on the road at 12.40pm today (Thursday, August 10).

One lane had to be closed so that a temporary repair could be carried out.

There were some minor delays on the road during the closure, reports our sister publication The Daily Post.

However, Highways England are warning that there will be another lane closure tonight so that a permanent fix can be made.

A spokesman said: “At 12.40pm were notified of a sunken grille in one of the lanes on the northbound approach of the A483 onto the roundabout with the A55.

“We immediately dispatched contractors to the scene and they closed off a lane briefly to effect a temporary repair so we could get all lanes running safely again in time for the rush hour. We’ll return overnight to do a permanent repair and don’t expect any disruption from that.”
