DOG-LOVERS are being invited to the first Middlewich Dog Show to raise money for the youth of the town.
Town mayor Jean Eaton is organising the event with the help of dog-lovers Ann and George Webster, from Long Lane, and it will be held at Market Fields on Sunday, August 27.
The exciting Bank Holiday weekend show will raise money for the Middlewich and Community Youth Project with organisers hoping it will become an annual show.
Cllr Eaton said: 'It's going to be absolutely wonderful. We are expecting a large turnout so there are 19 classes with first, second, third, fourth and reserved places in each.'
The competition will be open to dogs of all shapes and sizes, and both amateur and professional entries are welcome.
Ann and George have been dog show judges for more than 20 years and run the Middlewich Dog Club.
Ann said: 'We volunteered to help Jean organise a dog show before she became mayor. We said we would organise the dog companion show while Cllr Eaton is arranging all the other bits and pieces.'
People wanting to take part in the show can register on the day from 11am, with the event starting at noon. Entry costs £1 per dog. For more information contact Ann and George on 01606 832627.
Meanwhile, stalls are still available, costing £5 each, and anyone wanting one can contact Cllr Eaton on 01606 833983.
