CHESHIRE Police have released details of a sex offender from Chester who is currently at large.
The details were released days after the Ministry of Justice revealed that 954 criminals who should have been returned to prison are still on the run – including 20 murderers, 15 rapists and 140 burglars.
All had been recalled to prison for breaching the terms of their release.
John Alan Parry, 46, from the Chester area, was convicted of indecent assault on a 23-year-old woman in June 2005.
He was handed a 30 month prison sentence and released in August 2006. Parry subsequently breached the terms of his prison licence, by failing to notify authorities of a change of address.
DCI Brian Roberts, deputy director of intelligence for Cheshire Police, said: "Extensive enquiries have been carried out since Parry failed to comply with terms of his licence.
"We strongly believe he may be abroad, and appeal for anyone with any information in regards to his whereabouts that would assist in tracing him, to make contact with us."
