POLICE are hunting a man who abandoned his car and fled after officers stopped him on a Chester city centre road.
At just before 6pm last Thursday officers were seen guarding an abandoned white Vauxhall van in Nuns Road near Chester Racecourse.
The Cheshire Constabulary helicopter joined the search as officers chased the driver, who fled the scene after being pulled over during a routine stop check.
The street was closed for a short period of time while officers searched the area.
A Cheshire Constabulary spokesman said enquiries are ongoing to trace the man.
