POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was bitten by a dog in a Chester wood.

The woman and her young granddaughter were walking their dog in Bluebell Woods, Saughall at 9.30am on Sunday, October 25 when they were approached by what was described as a Staffordshire Bull Terrier type dog.

The bull terrier attacked the woman’s dog, which then jumped into her arms. The bull terrier also jumped up and bit the woman on her arm.

The owner then came over, pulled the dog away from the woman, tied it to a fence and walked with them out of the woods.

The man did not give his details to the woman.

The dog was brown with a white flash on its chest and was wearing a studded collar. The man is described as 5ft 8ins tall with a shaved head. He was wearing dark brown clothing and spoke with a Liverpudlian accent.
