POLICE are searching for muggers who pushed their victim to the ground on a Chester cycle path before stealing his wallet.

The 30-year-old man was walking along the track between Brook Lane and Northgate Village in the early hours of January 30 when he was approached by two men and attacked.

The men then fled in the direction of Ermine Road, Hoole.

DC Mark Hughes, of Chester CID, said: “The victim suffered a serious injury to his hand and required hospital treatment. We take all incidents of this nature seriously and are doing all we can to trace the offenders.

“We urge anyone with information about the incident to please come forward.”

The offenders were wearing black clothing, one with a black cap and the other had his face covered with a scarf.
