Witnesses are being sought following a Neston traffic collision in which a man lost his life.

Emergency services were called to Chester High Road at the junction of the A540 and the B5135 just after 5pm on Wednesday (February 11), following reports that a car and bus had collided.

The road had to be closed while authorities dealt with the accident, causing massive tailbacks for drivers on their way home.

The driver of the car − believed to be a man in his 80s − was pronounced dead at the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with any information which might assist with those enquiries, is urged to call Cheshire police on 101 quoting incident number 688 of February 11.
