A THIRD sexual assault on a young woman has taken place in Chester.

The attack happened in the early hours of Saturday, July 12 as the 19-year-old was walking along Garden Lane on her way home from a night out in the city centre.

She was followed by a young white male, described as 5’7” tall and skinny with a pale complexion, dark eyes and stubble.

The attacker, who spoke with a local accent, assaulted the woman as she walked under the ring road overpass at approximately 2.30am.

This is the third such assault in Chester over recent months; the first, in Saughall Road, Blacon occurred on June 2 and a further assault took place on Hoole Lane on July 14.

A spokesman for Cheshire police said: “There is nothing to suggest a link to the other attacks at this point but we advise women to be mindful of personal safety.

“Avoid secluded areas and if you are followed, get to a place of safety and contact the police.”
