PLANS to clear carp from Crowmere Lake are being rethought by Frodsham Town Council.

The council had decided to remove the carp after residents living near the lake complained their lives were being made “a misery” by antisocial anglers intent on catching the potentially valuable fish.

However, after seeking expert advice from Neil Boaz, fisheries manager for Lymm and Tarporley Angling Clubs, the council was told it would be impossible to remove all carp from the lake.

Mayor Cllr Geoff Bath said: “If there’s always going to be some carp in Crowmere there seems no point in going to the expense of trying to clear it.”
