There has been a baby boom at Chester Zoo recently/

We brought you the amazing video of the baby black rhino being born on Tuesday, February 3, and it's not the only infant to join the zoo's ranks.

Over the last few weeks, the zoo has gained a baby black rhino, a baby Rothschild giraffe, and a trio of tiger cubs.

The latest addition, the rare black rhino called Fara, was born at 8:15am on Sunday morning.

Tim Rowlands, curator of mammals at Chester Zoo, said of Fara's birth: "Every birth is cause for great celebration but given that Eastern black rhino face a real threat of extinction our new arrival is even more significant.

"Kitani’s delivery was textbook. We got a ‘maternity suite’ ready for her with deep sandy floors and beds of hay but ultimately she chose her own spot."

Fara's arrival follows the birth of other rare animals at the zoo... a trio of tiger cubs.

The cubs were born to eight-year-old Sumatran tigress Kirana in the early hours of 2 January, following a 105-day pregnancy.

Sumatran tigers are one of the rarest big cat species in the world; found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, there are less than 400 of the tigers in the wild. Which makes Chester Zoo's triplets even more special.

And just before Christmas, zoo keepers got an early festive gift in the form of a rare Rothschild giraffe calf.

The 6ft youngster - a female named Zahra - was born in the early hours of 22 December to mum Aiofe and dad Meru.

As for future arrivals, the zookeepers are keeping those a closely guarded secret for now, but there will almost certainly be some adorable new additions to Chester Zoo's inventory over the next 12 months.
