A WOMAN was attacked when she refused to hand over her mobile phone to two muggers.

The 32-year-old was grabbed by the two men near the Dray pub in Palacefields, Runcorn.

They ordered her to hand over her phone then dragged her into nearby bushes, threw her to the ground and punched her in the face.

They tried to tear a ring from her finger but ran away empty-handed.

The attack happened at 7.30pm on Saturday.

The two men were white and in their early 30s with short hair. One wore a red top with a silver necklace while the other had a grey and white sweatshirt. Both spoke with Liverpool accents.
