A PERVERT - described as being a substantial risk to young girls - has been caged for life for rape, indecent assault and the possession of hundreds of indecent pictures of children.
Anthony Savage, 48, was also banned for life from using any computer connected to the internet after the court heard how he shared obscene stories and a sick 'photograph album' of children with other child sex perverts.
Savage, who carried out sex assaults and raped a 15-year-old girl 25 years ago at his Runcorn home, was described as an 'immense potential danger to children' by Judge David Hale.
Warrington Crown Court heard that Savage had stopped assaulting young girls, but had an appetite for child pornography.
Detectives discovered he had sent thousands of vile e-mails to perverts throughout the world boasting of his child rape fantasies and claiming he could procure children for them to abuse.
He signed his disgusting e-mails 'paedo' or 'your child sex loving friend'.
The court heard that Savage was so brazen he secretly sexually assaulted some of the children while their parents were present in the room.
Savage was convicted of rape, 12 counts of indecent assault, one charge of possessing child pornography, one charge of distributing an indecent image of a child and of possessing thousands of indecent pictures of children.
Debbie Gould, defending, said Savage was willing to take part in any sex offenders' programme while in prison.
She also said he had carried out the indecent assaults and the rape when he was younger, and later offences had been confined to the internet.
'Technology intervened,' said Ms Gould. 'In 2001 the intrusion of the internet stopped him committing offences against people. He is not a predatory paedophile, but one who took opportunities when they arose.'
Judge Hale told Savage: 'I believe there is a significant risk that you will re-offend. I am shocked by your willingness to take risks. You carried out sexual assaults in rooms of up to 10 people and on occasions when the child's own parents were in the room at the same time.'
The judge said he would prefer to send Savage to prison indefinitely and believed Savage had attempted to 'groom' children so that he could carry out a sexual relationship with them.
He told Savage: 'From the messages you wrote it is clear that you looked at children as little more than objects. You were eager to get in touch with people who were 'similarly inclined.'
'Your attitude to children and sex with children is worryingly perverted.'
The judge ordered that Savage should be banned from ever using the internet and any future parole board should be shown copies of the sick e-mails he had sent to fellow perverts.
He ordered Savage to serve at least 14 years.
