Police and air ambulance crews are currently on the scene of an incident in Stoak in which a person has been injured.

Emergency services could not confirm any specific details about the incident which happened on Church Lane in the village, just after 1.30pm today (Thursday, February 4), but police said an accident had taken place which has been referred to the Health and Safety Executive.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "An incident in Church Lane, Stoak was reported to us at 1.34pm."

A helicopter was at the scene and has since been spotted flying off.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called to an incident on Church Lane, Stoak by North West Ambulance at 1.40pm today. There has been an accident in which one person has been injured. Officers are still at the scene and the incident has been referred to the Health and Safety Executive."
