PEOPLE across west Cheshire are urged to vote in the borough council and parish councils elections on Thursday, May 5.

If you have not registered to vote there is still time and if you want a postal vote you can register now. Visit www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/election or call the election hotline on 0300 123 7045.

You must add your name onto the register to be able to vote in these elections by April 14. Also should you require a postal vote this also has to be received at the Council’s HQ Offices in Chester by 5pm on the same day.

Returning officer Steve Robinson said: “It is important to ensure that you are registered to vote and polling cards will arrive through your door soon.

“If you are on holiday or find it difficult to get to a polling station, please register now for a postal or proxy vote.”

If you have moved house before the end of last year you could be registered at your old address. You need to apply for an application form to vote from your current address at www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/election.
