Eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted a special guest star when Cold Feet returned to our screens on Monday night (September 5) – Tarporley’s very own fairytale venue Peckforton Castle .

The cast of the 1990s cult hit reunited to film after a 13-year hiatus, and on our own doorstep no less.

A favourite among celebrities, the stunning 19th century country hotel hosted the unexpected nuptials of James Nesbitt’s character Adam.

People who did recognise those familiar turrets and red sandstone walls took to social media to share their delight at seeing the castle on TV once more, and no doubt many former brides and grooms got a little misty-eyed recalling their big days there.

It was a big night for Peckforton Castle’s owner and managing director Chris Naylor, as his other venue Nunsmere Hall also graced the small screen that night, with scenes for ITV’s Real Housewives of Cheshire filmed there of the stars enjoying a lavish party.

And it was an even bigger year for Peckforton Castle itself, having hosted not one but two star-studded weddings of Leicester City hero Jamie Vardy and singer Ciara to American football star Russell Wilson.

Chris told the Chronicle about what an 'exciting' year 2016 has been.

"Appearing on Cold Feet has been fantastic for us from a social media and publicity point of view," he said.

"We do get quite a lot of enquiries for TV shows to film here and it's very rare that we can fit them in but it just so happened that we had the availability for Cold Feet.

"We have had a couple of high-profile weddings this summer so we can't complain, it has been a fantastic year."
