PECKFORTON Castle has been named ‘Conference Venue of the Year’ at a national awards ceremony.

The historic castle won the accolade, which recognises the hotel for its excellence in the conference industry, at the annual HBAA Awards.

The award is voted for by past, present and future clients.

HBAA is the trade association that represents the collective interest of the parties involved in the procurement and management of conference, meetings and accommodation in the UK and internationally.

They are regarded as a benchmark of best practice within the association, whose buying power in meetings, events and accommodation exceeds £2.3bn.

Venue of the Year is a new category that was added this year to recognise hotels, venues and apartment services that excel in their day-to-day operation.

The win comes as a huge boost after the suspected arson attack on the Castle in June.

Managing director Chris Naylor said: “The support received from our clients and visitors has been nothing short of overwhelming.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them all for voting and helping us spread the word about what a magnificent venue we truly are.”

The awards were presented by HBAA chair Juliet Price at a dinner attended by over 300 booking agents, hotels and venues, and ancillary suppliers.
