A CHESHIRE hotel is asking pupils from local schools to come up with the menu for their new restaurant.

Peckforton Castle is launching a ‘yumpetition’ for Key Stage 2 pupils in the area to get involved with designing the children’s menu to be used in the award winning 1851 Restaurant and the new Twenty10 Brasserie, which will open this summer.

As part of the ‘yumpetition’, pupils will be asked to consider the importance of using local, seasonal produce to create a fun, nutritious menu that youngsters visiting the Brasserie will love to eat.

Peckforton Castle’s managing director, Chris Naylor, said: “We want to launch a new children’s menu to coincide with the opening of the new Brasserie and we believe the best way to give our young customers what they want is to ask them to get involved with the menu choices.”

The winner of the ‘yumpetition’ will be invited with three guests to the new Brasserie for a meal and the winner’s class will enjoy a trip to Peckforton Castle to include a falconry display, a tour of the castle and a picnic.

Peckforton Castle is inviting all Key Stage 2 classes within a ten-mile radius of the venue to take part. Those who would like a information pack should contact the castle on 01829 260 930
