ROYAL Mail have confirmed that a warning about a postal scam is a chain email.
Inboxes across the country have been receiving emails, often forwarded from well-meaning family and friends, warning that a postal scam is being operated by a company called PDS.
The email warns of a scam, originating in Belize, where a card is posted through your door saying you have a parcel and to contact 0906 6611711 (a premium rate number) to arrange redelivery. This number was, in fact, closed down in 2005.
A message on the Royal Mail security hotline is advising customers not to forward the email to others and that it should be deleted.
