The serious collision that emergency services have been dealing with on the A55 near Chester this morning involves a single vehicle and a pedestrian.
As a result of the incident the road is currently closed westbound between the A51 Vicars Cross junction and the A41 Sainsburys roundabout.
Local diversions are in place but delays are expected so motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
A rapid response vehicle and an ambulance was called to the scene and a patient was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital.
Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 156 of 10/12/2015.
There is also traffic congestion on the M56 this morning, after a lane has been closed due to an accident.
