AN OVERHEAD power line proposed in open countryside would be visually obtrusive, argued parish councillors.
Tarvin ParishCouncilwascommenting on proposals by SP Power Systems for an 11,000v supply on land at Broomheath Lane, Tarvin.
The line, supported by wooden poles, would cross countryside near the Tarvin Bypass, accordingto aChesterCityCouncil report. A short section of the existing line would be removed.
A previous application did not go ahead as the line would be close to trees covered by a tree preservation order.
Planning officers said they did not believe the new route for the line would be detrimental to the visual or residential amenity of properties in the Sheaf or in Tarvin village. It would not affect the landscape character of the area.
They reached their decision under delegated powers.
