People are invited to spoil themselves with a pamper session to raise funds for Claire House Children’s Hospice at Beehive Healthcare in Chester on October 21.
More than 60 appointment slots are available for treatments ranging from specialist massage, acupuncture and reflexology through to facials, foot care and skin consultations.
Beehive Healthcare has only been open a few months but charitable and community support is a very important part of the centre’s ethos.
Beehive Healthcare’s owner Sharon Shelbourne said: “I met fundraising manager Claire Farrow at a networking event recently, as soon as she told me more about Claire House and the inspiring work they carry out to support children who are unlikely to reach adulthood and their families, I wanted to get my business involved and do something.”
Rather than opt for sponsorship approaches Sharon wanted to do something that helps both the charity and the person donating.
She added: “People often view treatments as being a pamper session but actually the health benefits are well documented and many of our customers have ongoing health conditions that our treatments help with. We wanted to find a way that raised funds and also gave people permission to take time for themselves and their health. Carers in particular can often neglect their own health because they remain so focussed on the person they are caring for.
“We want to remind people that their health is their wealth and they can benefit from the treatment as well as support the cause.”
The therapists who offer services at the centre quickly agreed to offer their time for free to support the cause.
The result is a Charity Day in support of Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Sharon said: “Between 8.30am to 8pm on October 21 there will be 30 minute appointment slots available in a range of therapies. All we ask is that anyone who books an appointment then donates on the day to Claire House Children’s Hospice via one of our donation tins. Our suggested donation is from £5 upwards as most treatments would normally cost £25 upwards. We will also be giving discounts to customers based on how much they donate on the day. There are a wide range of treatments available so please get in touch to find out more!”

All proceeds raised from the event will be donated to Claire House Children’s Hospice.
