IT WAS triples all round for staff at a Handbridge school when they decided to put on a musical.
Auditions for the Overleigh St Mary’s CE Primary School production of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat threw up so much talent that teachers took the decision to have three separate casts.
Three Josephs, three Pharaohs and three sets of brothers led three teams of singers, actors and musicians in the show in the school hall.
Brain-child of the school’s specialist music teacher Beverley Atherton, this was the second time the show had been performed at the school – the last being 17 years ago.
Teacher Fiona MacSween said: “Rehearsals saw children switching between their different roles on different nights - being a brother one night, and in the choir the next.”
Staff worked during their lunchtimes and after school to provide costumes, set, lights, music, make-up, songs, programmes, tickets, posters and t-shirts. Brian Dickinson and Harry Fung from St Mary's Church helped with sound and lights.
