AN OPERA singer from South Cheshire is hitting all the right notes on a sell-out nationwide tour.
Sandbach woman Linda Richardson is singing the role of Gilda in Verdi's popular opera Rigoletto, best known for the song La donna e mobile.
The Opera North touring production comes to Salford's Lowry Theatre next Wednesday.
Linda, 38, who has a seven-year-old son, James, said: 'I'm from a farming family with four brothers so when I was young I was determined to become a farmer.
'However, my brothers had other ideas and told me that girls didn't belong on a farm. Although my family was not musical, I sang in St Oswald's Church choir in Lower Peover and was encouraged to take singing lessons.
'By the time I achieved my degree in music and had won a scholarship at The Royal Northern College, Manchester, singing was my life.
'I have been singing soprano professionally for 13 years and I still love every minute of it.
'Rigoletto is a great opera and we have a very experienced cast on this tour.'
