A MOTORBIKE showroom will welcome enthusiasts and their families for a day of fun activities.

Smiths Honda in Christleton, Chester are holding an open day on Sunday, June 23 to raise funds for Claire House Children’s Hospice, opening their doors from 11am-5pm.

Karen Smith, from Smiths Honda, is the ‘Claire House Business Ambassador’ and has raised about £100,000 for the charity over the last 15 years.

Karen said: “I’m always looking for different ways to fund raise, the hospice is an amazing place where the children and staff are so special; and with it being the Smiths Honda first birthday, and us being a family business – I couldn’t think of a better event than a family day and although the day is free for everyone, we will be doing raffles and rattling our Claire House collection tins to ensure fundraising success.”

The day will play host to motorcycle display team Inch Perfect Trials Display Team. There will also be a giant inflatable obstacle course for youngsters to enjoy and a challenging Honda Wheelie Machine for the big kids to test their skills and live entertainment.

For the bikers around Chester there will be some highly competitive competitions with excellent prizes: ‘best custom bike’, ‘best classic’ and ‘best turned out bike or scooter’.

There will also be chance to meet past, and future racing stars including Joe Francis, 15, of Backford, who is already leading the current British Superbike Championship on his Honda machine.

People can meet Joe and hear about his ambitions for the up and coming world series championship.
