MORE than 100 rowers from the Royal Chester Rowing Club were treated to a talk from their Olympic hero Tom James.
Tom, an ex-King’s School pupil, who won gold in Beijing and London 2012, enthralled his audience at The Queen’s School which included juniors, seniors, masters and parents.
The double Olympian passed around his gold medals to the delight of all present. And he showed footage of both his winning races in the coxless men’s four.
Tom kept his enthusiastic audience enthralled for over an hour, as he shared many rowing anecdotes, including his competitor experience of London 2012.
Tom, an honorary member of Royal Chester Rowing club, started rowing at age 13 and the junior rowers many of whom attend Queen’s School loved hearing about his early rowing stories.
