LISTED building consent was granted to enable city centre offices to return to residential.

The application, at 80-82 Lower Watergate Street, was put forward by Martin Fletcher for Hilbre Estates.

Mr Fletcher told planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council he was seeking approval for the change of use of ground and first-floor offices at the two Georgian town houses and the replacement of a shop front with traditional windows.

The Grade II listed properties are in a conservation area between Linenhall Place and Stanley Street. They were altered for commercial purposes in the late 20th century.
