A 101-YEAR-OLD burglary victim has been forced to move away from Ellesmere Port.

She was taken out of her Faraday Road home by her family after the attack in early December.

Two youths kicked in her front door, threatened her and stole her Christmas nest-egg from a purse and cabinet. She was left unhurt but very shaken.

And even though the burglars have yet to be caught, police say they have not given up the search for them.

The incident - which was reported on the front page of the Pioneer's December 6 edition - was related to Ellesmere Port Police Forum by a Faraday Road resident.

He said: 'She was robbed but the offenders haven't been caught. It's forced her out of her home.'

Inspector Kevin Bennett said: 'It's very sad that happened. This type of offence is extremely rare in Ellesmere Port.'

The resident countered by saying: 'It's happened a few times in Faraday Road.'

Insp Bennett replied: 'Actually, over the past 18 months that was a very unusual occurrence.

'We have all put an awful lot of work into the investigation. The offenders haven't been caught. I wish we could catch them but we have done everything we could do.

'We also did an awful lot of work with the victim, making daily visits to her house.

'Her family have now moved her out of Cheshire. Things like that should not happen.'

Area commander, Chief Superintendent Tim Jackson, said: 'We haven't given up on this.'

Police have previously issued descriptions of the offenders and an e-fit picture of one of them.

The robbers were both aged between 18-20, around 5ft 8ins tall and of slim build. One wore a grey sweater.
