THE achievements of soldiers in Olympic Games of the past are celebrated in a special exhibition at the Cheshire Military Museum.

Our Sporting Life commemorates the Olympic and sporting achievements of soldiers in Cheshire regiments in sports such as athletics, football and even tug of war.

The exhibition also features the Army’s Fit to Fight video and there are special profiles of renowned Cheshire Regiment athletes including Harold Walden, a member of Great Britain’s gold medal winning football team at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics.

Located at The Castle, the Cheshire Military Museum depicts the history of the regiments and military connected with the county of Cheshire from the 17th Century through to modern times. It houses an extensive collection of authentic artefacts.

Our Sporting Life runs until December 2012. The museum is open Monday-Sunday from 10am-5pm with last admission at 4pm. Admission is adults £3, concessions £2, family £8.
