Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault and attempted robbery of a 16-year-old man in the Lostock Gralam area of Northwich.

The man was walking along Manchester Road, near to the Toyota Garage, at around 11pm on Sunday night (June 8), when he was approached by three men, who are believed to be in their late teens or early twenties.

As the three men approached the victim, one of the offenders stood in front of him and told him to hand over his money and mobile phone, whilst the other two offenders stood behind the victim.

When the victim stated that he didn′t have anything to give them, he was punched in the stomach and in the mouth, causing minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.

All three offenders are described as having local accents and wearing dark tracksuits with hoods pulled over their faces so that just their eyes were visible to the victim.

The man who confronted the victim is described as white, approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build, and was wearing an Adidas tracksuit, whilst the two other men were wearing gloves.
