WITCHES, a haunted hotel and how women coped in the war are just some of the stories brought to life by students from Sir John Deane’s College in Northwich.

Performance studies students put together their interpretations of local tales from the area as part of their A-level studies.

And the public got the chance to see the show for free at Moulton Village Hall on Thursday.

The community performance project was part of their AS-level studies, and the six 30-minute performances were put on throughout the day.

The students had to research the history of the local area and interpret it into musical theatre, for which they wrote their own music, scripts and choreographed their own dance moves.

Performance studies teacher Josie Wilson said: “It’s a very exciting project that tested their creativity. They have risen to the challenge and have been completely committed and focused, resulting in some fantastic and informative pieces.”
